Song Lyric Sunday – Come What May from Moulin Rouge

I guess I’m going to have to get all sappy on you guys this week.  I probably could have gone out and found a cool rock and roll duet, but it didn’t take me long to remember this song and how much I love it.  I just finished listening to it again for probably the millionth time and it still manages to bring tears to my eyes.

I always thought this love feeling would happen in an instant and it would just be there the rest of your life, but life has taught me that is rarely ever true.  Love is something that builds with time and lots of hard work.  Sure, there’s easy moments along the way, but for the most part, I think there will always be a checking in to make sure things are moving in the right direction.

I was laying next to the hubby this morning and found myself realizing that there is not one single moment where you feel like you’ve made it – Ah, I’m finally in love and this is it!  It’s definitely a process; however, I feel like this is the first time in my life where I’m truly happy and I feel I’ve found someone I can spend the rest of my life with, come what may.

I just have to say that my favorite line is, “I want to vanish inside your kiss”.  Brilliant lyrics to say the least!

I know I’ve dedicated many songs to the man in my life, but here is yet another one.  I love you, Husband!

Lyrics found at Google Play Music

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I´ve never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I´m loving you more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn´t seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there´s no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song I´ll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you until the end of time

Oh, come what may, come what may
I will love you, I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place

  1. I have to admit I can’t much relate to this song. I’m an eternal cynic and I doubt I’ll ever go on another date again much less get married but I do appreciate the song for what it is.

  2. Having never seen this movie, I don’t know who is singing the song. Is it the stars of the movie? (Kidman and McGregor?) Great Duet!

And I applaud your romantic dedication and perseverance!! I too, am a believer, Helen!!

  3. Nice choice. I think what I like most about your SLS is that I get to better understand lyrics from some songs I’ve heard before, but never took time to think about them.
