Hey guys. It’s been a pretty rough day. It’s one of those days that I haven’t been able to turn my brain off, and it really doesn’t have anything good to say. Luckily, I pulled my head out long enough to get this posted.
Do you ever wish you could just stop thinking? I mean, it’s nice to think when the ideas are flowing and you feel like you’re moving forward, but sometimes, thoughts aren’t like that. Sometimes, they are wholly unkind. Perhaps we can all find some peace through music this week.
With those rather cryptic remarks, I will now announce our theme this week. So, let’s put on our thinking caps on, break out our playlists and get to work! Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday this week is think.
As always, you can go your own way and post a song that has nothing to do with the prompt. We’re all here sharing our love of music and lyrics, and most of all, having a great time!
If you would like to suggest a theme, I am open to suggestions. Please either pop it in the comments or send me an email at helenvahdati@yahoo.com.
Here are the “rules”:
- Post the lyrics to the song of your choice, whether it fits the theme or not
- Please try to include the songwriter(s) – it’s a good idea to give credit where credit is due and it’s honestly just a simple Google search
- Make sure you also credit the singer/band and provide a link to where you found the lyrics
- Link to the YouTube video, or pull it into your post so others can listen to the song
- Ping back to this post or my own Song Lyric Sunday post
- Read at least one other person’s blog so we can all share new and fantastic music and create amazing new blogging friends in the process
Feel free to use the Song Lyric Sunday badge by copying it into your post or add it to your site to show you are participating.
Helen – the title date? (7/8/18?) 🙂

Totally with you on the stopping thinking Helen – sometimes I just wish I could take my head off, empty out the contents and then put it back on again. Hope your mental spaghetti unravels itself soon :O)

I hate when my brain power goes into overdrive for analyzing and basically torturing me with things I can’t solve or do anything about in the moment or… *faints*. I feel your pain.

Thank you. I almost bailed yesterday, to be honest. I’m happy I persevered, though, because you guys make it all worth it.

I was uncertain what to post, because there were to many songs going through my head, but I reached out to my family and narrowed it down and finally chose The Cars, “You Might Think.” I remember this song growing up, and to be honest it was one of my favorites, but as I listen to it now I am not sure why. I think it’s amazing how music tastes change over time and the experiences we have in life. I hope you all have a great Sunday.

You might think I’m crazy
To hang around with you
Maybe you think I’m lucky
To have something to do
But I think that you’re wild
Inside me is some child
You might think I’m foolish
Or maybe it’s untrue
(You might think) you might think I’m crazy
(All I want) but all I want is you
You might think it’s hysterical
But I know when you’re weak
You think you’re in the movies
And everything’s so deep
But I think that you’re wild
When you flash that fragile smile
You might think it’s foolish
What you put me through
(You might think) you might think I’m crazy
(All I want) but all I want is you
And it was hard, so hard to take
There’s no escape without a scrape
You kept it going ’till the sun fell down
You kept it going
Well you might think I’m delirious
The way I run you down
But somewhere sometimes, when you’re curious
I’ll be back around
Oh I think that you’re wild
And so uniquely styled
You might think it’s foolish
This chancy rendezvous
(You might think) you might think I’m crazy
(All I want) but all I want is you
All I want is you
All I want is you

Haha, this is classic 80’s. I’m also questioning our taste at this point, but it is a fun, catchy song. Thanks for the memories, Sis!
